Time for your daily “Is Paul Pogba coming to Old Trafford or not?” update. It’s the Manchester United transfer rumor that is just overshadowing all other news within and surrounding the team.
Yes, the incessant Paul Pogba transfer narrative has grown well beyond tiresome and redundant. It’s rather tedious and annoying now; reminiscent of David de Gea with Real Madrid last summer or Arturo Vidal in August of 2014. Well, let’s try and read way too much into something/the tea leaves once again.
Today was the day that United released their shirt numbers for the season, and Paul Pogba’s #6 is open. I’ll let you take it from here, FOX Soccer:
“Manchester United’s No. 6 shirt has been unfilled ever since Jonny Evans left the club last August. The Red Devils could have given that shirt to Ander Herrera, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger or any number of other midfielders this season, but they decided against it. They decided to give it to no one. Or, maybe more accurately, they decided to hold onto it for Pogba.”
Here’s the full squad list by the way, listed out below:
