It’s officially official now- Memphis Depay has chosen Manchester United; over Liverpool. This news is doubly special to Red Devils supporters. They get a top notch player, who fills team needs. AND….he snubbed a move to their arch-rivals.
The move, pending medical, will be completely completed when the transfer window opens in June.
However, the club’s official site has already announced it. The transfer fee for the PSV Eindhoven forward is a reported £22 million. Not bad for the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie (21 goals, 27 goals in all competitions), and the favorite to take home Holland’s Player of the Year Award. Like Daley Blind last year, before he moved to Manchester.

Memphis Depay said on the website of his agency, SEG: “It was an exciting and pretty hectic period, and to have a choice between so many top clubs doesn’t make it any easier.”
“For me, Manchester United is an absolute dream club, so I didn’t need any convincing of the guys who already play at Manchester United. They told me only positive things, though.”
Paris St. Germain were also reportedly in the running for Depay. Imagine what could happen now at Old Trafford if Angel Di Maria figures it out? You’ll have Depay on the other wing to complement him. One guy who’s probably not thrilled about this transaction is Adnan Januzaj; who’s likely to see his playing time dwindle in light of this transfer buy.
