Marouane Fellaini is a very polarizing figure within the Manchester United community. He was only the summer signing for David Moyes, and just like that horrendous managerial flop, he came to Old Trafford from Everton. That association with Moyes has stuck to Fellaini, who is also often deemed an expensive flop by some.
The Belgian has had his share of moments though; labeling him a flop is not totally fair. Fellaini is also polarizing for his style of play. A former official has labeled him a thug, but he maintains that he’s not a dirty player, despite all the troubles that his elbows get him into.
Despite his short-comings as a player and controversial style, United obviously see something in him. He’s not heading out the Old Trafford door any time soon.
According to ESPN FC’s Mark Ogden, the Red Devils will extend him another year. Get used to it- he’s going to be around.

Back on December 3rd, Manager Jose Mourinho subbed Marouane Fellaini on late in United’s contest at Everton. The Red Devils were up 1-0, and Fellaini came on, and quickly made a huge gaffe that gave away a penalty to the Toffees. Everton equalized and Fellaini was directly responsible for giving away two points.
Club legend Gary Neville labeled the big Belgian “garbage” and “pathetic” after this display, but Mourinho strongly defended his decision to put Fellaini on that moment.
United fans were understandably and deservedly livid at the time, so you have to expect they won’t be too happy about this news today.
