Manchester United Manager Louis van Gaal been given a big fitness boost when United travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton tomorrow. Marcos Rojo, Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and Ander Herrera have all been deemed fit to play today.
Louis van Gaal met the media today, here is the full video of his morning press conference.
“Wayne Rooney, I think he can play and Michael Carrick can play as well,” Van Gaal said.
Regarding Herrera and Rojo, the Dutchman said: “They were injured and they have a rehabilitation period behind their back and everything went well. They are also fit to play, maybe not 90 minutes but you never know.”
Rojo lost his starting place last season and he had issues with his passport this summer. Because of these issues he missed United’s preseason tour and was deemed not match fit enough to be featured. This led to rumors that Rojo would be on the move, with Napoli among the rumored potential destinations. However, Rojo’s agent indicated that his client definitely wants to stay at Old Trafford for the time being.
Van Gaal also added that Paddy McNair and Ashley Young are unavailable for selection due to injury. More material to help you get ready for this fixture: The Sports Bank’s Manchester United starting XI prediction for this match
