Both Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in Toulouse youngster Tiemoue Bakayoko. The 19 year old midfielder currently plays for Rennes in France’s Ligue 1. Bakayoko has impressed in both club competition and international match competition. Rennes, currently sits 13th in the top flight of France, and they won’t give him up easily.
David Moyes talked about the transfer window which is rapidly approaching next month: “In any transfer window you don’t want to be bringing in a full batch of players, so I think there’s a period of time that it takes. The last one was a difficult one after just joining the club, so we’ve got a window in January where, if we think if it’s right for the club, we’ll do so,” Moyes told the Daily Mirror.
“If not, we’ll look again in the summer. This club is always looking to bring in the best talent and that won’t change.”
It was a very uninteresting and uninspiring transfer period in the summer for United, and perhaps that speaks to the fact that the club now finds itself mid-table with serious issues at the midfielder position. Obviously, that will be the position of first priority to be addressed next month. However, Moyes insists that the Red Devils won’t just blindly go in to the market with an air of desperation. He says it won’t be crazy spending and drastic overhaul.
“I don’t think I’ll feel under pressure personally to do it [buy in January] as I’ll try to do the right things,” Moyes continued.
“I tend to take my time and try to assess what are the best talents to bring in. You can see that from the players I brought in at Everton.
