We haven’t heard a lot of Manchester United transfer rumors this month, as it’s been a very quiet January transfer window. Not just at Old Trafford, but for the Premier League overall. United Manager Jose Mourinho did say that they weren’t going to really make some major buys this window, and that’s exactly what’s happened.
United have pretty much become a “buying in the summer transfer window only” kind of club, and Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezzman could be next. The Frenchman and close friend of Paul Pogba could be the blockbuster Red Devils acquisition for 2017.
The key to his move could lay with Pogba himself, as the world’s most expensive player might just be the lead recruiter. Mourinho has also said that the club are poised to have a huge summer transfer window.
Manchester United are hopeful record signing Paul Pogba can deploy his strong personal relationship with Antoine Griezmann to aid the English Premier League club in securing another major transfer.
Jose Mourinho has identified the France international as one of a group of high-quality recruits necessary to further a process of returning United’s squad to a level from which it can compete for the Premier and Champions League titles
Speaking to Sky Germany ahead of France’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Sweden back in early November, Griezmann revealed that he often talks with the £89.3 million man about what life with the Old Trafford outfit would be like. Thus, he’s been scoping it out, as it no doubt piques his interest.
Expect this to be a major story line come July, as United are supposedly pretty confident that they’ll sign him.
