It’s Man United starting XI prediction time. Manchester United need to best the result of PSV Eindhoven in order to advance to the knockout round of UEFA Champions League. In other words, they better well beat Wolfsburg. No more of this incessant goal less draw tedium.
It’s time to win. Or else. (ok, not really) and Louis van Gaal has job security even if United get eliminated tomorrow night.
Also, Van Gaal has said himself that this team cannot win the Champions League tournament. That’s a questionable thing to say, but I guess he’s run out of excuses, and he’s making a pre-emptive excuse should United crash out. They had been consistently winning ugly, and that was something United fans were willing to accept. Drawing ugly though is inexcusable.
Here’s what ESPN FC’s forecasting models are saying for this one:
Soccer Power Index chances Bet 365 odds
Wolfsburg win 48% 13-10
draw 26% 5-2
MUFC win 26% 23-10

Obviously, all United supporters would like to see the offense show up again at some point. That has certainly not been the case for much of October, November and December.
So here is The Sports Bank’s Man United starting XI prediction
Anthony Martial
Jesse Lingard Juan Mata
Marouane Fellaini
Michael Carrick Bastian Schweinsteiger
Daley Blind Paddy McNair Chris Smalling Matteo Darmian
David de Gea
