Manchester United are truly rolling right now. They have won their last six Premier League fixtures, and eight in a row in across all competitions. They have not been beaten since early November, in their last 11 overall, and that’s a feat unmatched since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
They’re won’t be any stopping now as they take on Hull City tomorrow night in the EFL Cup. Manager Jose Mourinho has already said that the starters who got rest in the 4-0 demolishing of Reading in the FA Cup will be back in the first team against Hull.
“I play with the players that didn’t play today,” said Mourinho to the club’s official website.
“I played with fresh players and I don’t want to say anything about first choice or second choice but we played with fresh players, the players who didn’t play against West Ham.”
The Tigers are in dead last place in the Premier League table, and thus will be much more concerned with trying to stay up than the EFL Cup. On the flip side, United also are prioritizing the league, making the push for a top four slot, above the EFL Cup (or Europa League, FA Cup for that matter).
