Louis van Gaal isn’t wrong. It’s still very early in the Premier League season. The championship race is wide open; despite the terrible start for Manchester United. The Red Devils acquired just two points from their first three matches. That’s worse than it sounds though because United’s early fixtures were pretty weak. This was supposed the time to rack up victories and points early on.
It hasn’t worked out the way, as United are currently in 14th place out of 20.
“Yes, it’s always possible because we still have to play a lot of matches,” Louis van Gaal, when asked if his side could still win the league.
“We are not that far behind.”
“You always want to buy the best players for the positions you need and we have done very well in the transfer market, in spite of not playing in the Champions League,” van Gaal, he added.
“Players are coming to Manchester United and now we have to produce results and start our season.”
Again, everything he’s saying is true. However, I think the goal set by United Executive Vice President Ed Woodward is more realistic. He told investors the expectations for this season are a third place finish.
