Reports from England confirm the entry of Manchester United into the competition for Julian Draxler. “The Daily Star Sunday can reveal that talks on Draxler were held in the last week. German sources at Euro 2016 say United’s interest in Draxler is strong.”
The report goes on to state that United have bid £30 million emerging German midfielder, but Wolfsburg “have made it clear they have no intention of selling their prize asset.”
After all, the 23-year-old just left Schalke for Wolfsburg a year ago. Draxler has been linked to United in the past, with David Moyes was rumored to have bid £25 million for his services. He’s also been heaviliy linked to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the past.
Draxler is thought to be a contingency plan if United cannot acquire Henrikh Mkitaryan.Despite a reported €24 million offer from United, Borussia Dortmund have said that he’s not for sale. Mino Raiola, Mkhitaryan’s agent, is not giving up however. He’s going to keep talking, as he says it would “be a sin” to not continue trying to get a deal done.
Jose Mourinho wants to acquire a very special kind of top class midfielder, and both of these German targets fit the mold.
