Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had a significant interruption during his weekly press conference today. Since smartphones today can do almost anything that any other hand held electronic device can do, one journalist used his to record the session. Many journalists do it, it’s quite common, but most make sure the ringer is off.
It’s also very rare that someone would actually the call the reporter at the same exact moment the presser is being held.
Rarer still is when the person being interviewed actually answers the call, but that’s exactly what the United boss did before handing the phone back the reporter.
Jose Mourinho laughed as he revealed to the room of journalists that it was a call from “Abby from TalkSport.” The journo who owns the phone, presumably a member of that specific outlet responded with “it’s (the phone) not supposed to work like that.”
The distraction caused the Portuguese to momentarily forget the topic of discussion, as he then asked: “What was the question?”

Following the EFL Cup win over Hull City on Tuesday night, Mourinho said that both he and his team need to get better by the time this fixture of all fixtures comes around. He also said that he hopes he gives the fans reason to get fired up for this one, and he encouraged the fans for this “special match.“
