Manchester United Manager Louis Van Gaal articulated exactly why Jesse Lingard earned his way into the first team. This is much to the chagrin of the first summer signing, Memphis Depay, who remains out of favor. Lingard made Van Gaal’s decision look very intelligent today as he scored United’s first Premier League goal in 260 minutes of action.
Lingard drilled it home from 18 yards out, and it was the decisive blow as United picked up all three points
Here’s footage of the Jesse Lingard goal which made it United 1, West Bromwich Albion 0. The Red Devils would go on to beat West Brom 2-0. Below you can see the GIF, and then after that, the Vine:

Later in the game, Anthony Martial was able to earn United a penalty, and Juan Mata converted the kick to provide the final scoring margin.
