Jesse Lingard might get a very nice payout for his earning a call-up to the England National Team senior squad. The Star reports that the Manchester United winger has a clause in his contract guaranteeing a £50,000 payment should he make an appearance in Tuesday’s friendly against France.
Lingard scored his first goal for Manchester United in the last fixture, rewarding Manager Louis Van Gaal’s faith in promoting him to the first team. Here’s the footage of his curling effort from 16 yards out. Lingard has started two games for the Red Devils, usurping Memphis Depay.
However, he may not be the long term answer for United on the wing. At least not if the tabloid transfer rumors are to be believed.
Since we’re on the topic of Lingard, his future and tabloid narratives,
Star Sport reports Lingard is currently on £8,000-a-week salary, making him the lowest-paid player in the first team. The Star says that despite the player’s promotion to the starting XI he’s not in line for a pay raise any time soon. That makes sense given that he just signed a new deal in February.

After the match, Van Gaal had a lot of praise for Lingard.
‘It was a fantastic goal Lingard scored today. He had the same kind of chances a couple of days ago in training and he shot directly first time,’ said van Gaal.
‘I said to him ‘you have to feel the ball first’ because with that touch you have more feeling with the ball.
‘He did it and scored a fantastic goal so I am very happy for him. He played very well and deserves it and I am a happy manager
