The David De Gea is leaving Manchester United and joining Real Madrid rumors just will not go away. As of now, they’ve only gotten stronger. From the Daily Mirror:
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has agreed to join Real Madrid, according to Spanish television channel La Sexta.
Now that directly contrasts with recent reports where Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti said that he’s committed to his current #1 Iker Casillas. Not to mention all the times that De Gea has re-affirmed publicly his commitment to Manchester.
Still, a Spaniard with an opportunity to be the #1 goalkeeper for the #1 team in his homeland; the flagship club of Spain who reside in the Spanish capital? You can see the allure; especially when you consider that De Gea has supplanted Casillas as #1 on Spain’s National Team.
On the other hand, Manchester United have pockets as deep as anybody’s and they have all the money they need and more to keep him. Louis van Gaal seems to have figured out a system that works now finally and the club is getting it together at the right time.
Add in the fact that Ed Woodward supposedly plans to throw money around this summer, further bolstering the side, and you have to ask yourself, who would turn that down?
If you were David de Gea, which way would you go? Comment below. Do you believe the De Gea to Real rumors, or do you think they’re just rubbish? Comment below
