When Cristiano Ronaldo says that Manchester United are going to be Premier League Champions in the near future, perhaps he should have added “when I sign for them.” Of course, he didn’t say that, as we know that there is not way he’s coming back to Old Trafford. Ronaldo did say a lot of nice things about current United boos Louis van Gaal however.
“Van Gaal is a fantastic coach and I am certain he will make United champions again – if not this year then very soon after that,” Cristiano Ronaldo said in the Daily Mirror.
“Sir Alex Ferguson said that Van Gaal will need time – and he is right. Because, in the beginning at United, even Sir Alex didn’t win anything for a few years. To get a good squad and a good team takes time, so lets give Van Gaal the time he needs.”
That’s a great analogy Cristiano Ronaldo made in that quote. United fans need to have patience. Yes, MUFC has gotten off to a slow start, but remember how long it took Sir Alex to win trophies.
“I hope Manchester United can come again at the top of the league but, at the moment, they are many points behind Chelsea.
“The Premier League is a complicated. Even the clubs at the bottom of the table can beat those at the top, so it is very tough,” Ronaldo added.
