Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer Cristiano Ronaldo a £300k-a-week ($487,000) pay packet in an attempt to lure him back to Old Trafford says the Daily Express. Also, it seems Cristiano Ronaldo is reciprocating the interest in coming back to Manchester United.
Update: via Daily Mail–
Cristiano Ronaldo will demand a ground-breaking £500,000-a-week to join either Chelsea or Manchester United next summer.
Real Madrid star Ronaldo last week confirmed a story Football Grapevine broke 18 months ago that he was on the verge of re-joining United in the summer of 2013
And of course, one has to think about this Ronaldo interview in the Daily Mail on September 3rd:
‘I love Manchester,’ Cristiano Ronaldo said.
‘Everyone knows that — I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.’
Not so fast though because he also said:
‘I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there.’
Right. You never know. You saw how much cash Man United just spent this past summer transfer window. If a deal gets done, it would likely be in summer 2015, not in January.
Of course, Chelsea is also in. They are prepared to spend big, in order to battle United for Ronaldo’s services, as we posted yesterday.
