Former Manchester United and current Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez said goodbye to United and the Red Devils community at large on his verified Twitter account today. Chicharito, who had been with the club since 2010, acknowledged Sir Alex Ferguson, the Manager who brought him to Old Trafford, in his parting message.
The Mexican international failed to mention Louis van Gaal and David Moyes, the other two managers he played under at United.
“I want to thank Sir Alex Ferguson and [chief scout] Jim Lawlor, the club staff, all the players I played with,” Hernandez said.
“But I especially want to thank all the Manchester United fans in the UK and all around the world for the incredible support I’ve had this past four years, and all the best wishes they have for me in my new chapter.”

Chicharito said all along that he wanted first team football. It was the number one priority for him when determining his future. In his first match with Bayer, he played 70 minutes.
