Manchester City, you can send your Christmas cards to Crystal Palace now. Be sure you give Tony Pulis an extra nice gift basket. But you don’t have to be a supporter of Man City to have enjoyed watching this one. When one side races out to a 3-nil advantage, and the other side doesn’t start scoring until there’s 11 minutes left, and still come back to tie it…that’s high drama and non-stop excitement. Even non-football fans were riveted. For those who say “soccer is boring,” they didn’t see this game.
It was anything but tedious.
Crystal Palace came in with absolutely nothing to play for. As an entire team, they had scored two goals less than Liverpool striker Luis Suarez had all by himself. No one gave the home side in Selhurst Park a chance. According to Soccer Power Index, LFC entered today’s game with an 18% chance of winning the title.
After today, it feels closer to 0.00018% (the actual number is 9%, Man City’s odds are 91%)
Let’s look at how the Manchester City community, as well as fans of other teams in the Premiership reacted on Twitter to Crystal Palace storming back from a 3-nil deficit to earn a 3-3 draw with Liverpool. (Here’s where you can see the reaction of Manchester United and Everton supporters) To be fair I’ll even throw in a couple reactions from Liverpool supporters.
