The honeymoon is already over for Jurgen Klopp. His first week as Liverpool Manager has been quite injury plagued. Yesterday, the Reds lost Defender Joe Gomez for the season.
Today, it’s striker Danny Ings who has been ruled out for the remainder of 2015-16.
Liverpool striker Danny Ings is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury, sources have told ESPN FC.
England international Ings suffered the injury in training at Melwood on Wednesday and scans have confirmed that he has torn his cruciate ligament.
The timetable for Ings’ return is approximately six months, so that rules him out for the rest of the Premier League regular season, and also Euro 2016 competition with England. Liverpool acquired Danny Ings from Burnley this summer, but never agreed on a transfer fee with them.
The price will be set at a tribunal in December.
Ings is yet another blow to an already depleted Liverpool squad who on Saturday take on a Tottenham Hotspur side that is undefeated in their last seven. It was going to be quite a challenge for Klopp to begin with, but now he’ll have to take on Spurs without Joe Gomez and Danny Ings.
Liverpool will also be sans Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino in this match.
