Liverpool is primarily known for two things: the globally beloved football franchise that’s won 18 titles, and The Beatles, a rock band that shaped the history of music. As Jurgen Klopp heads to Merseyside to try and fix the mess he inherited from Brendan Rodgers, Borussia Dortmund, Klopp’s former team, gave him a Beatles style tribute.
It’s fitting; given that Liverpool fans are treating Jurgen Klopp like a rock star right now. 35,000 fans tracked Klopp’s flight from Dortmund to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool.
Beatlesmania meets Kloppmania in this Tweet from the official BVB account:
We heard the news today, oh boy! All the best at The Kop, Jürgen Klopp! All the best at @LFC! #klopplfc pic.twitter.com/2vAvY4Hc4F
— Borussia Dortmund (@BVB) October 8, 2015
Yes, that’s an Abbey Road album cover graphic tribute from the Bundesliga outfit. LFC fans are brimming with optimism right now. Even Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson is extolling the virtues of this hire; backing Klopp to succeed at the Kop.
Jurgen Klopp talked title at Liverpool in his first four years on the job.
If he can deliver on that, he’ll truly be a rock star in northwest England.
