Out of contract Liverpool FC striker Jerome Sinclair is joining Watford on a five year deal.
In an official statement issued by the club, Liverpool FC said: “His registration would have been subject to compensation in the form of a development fee.
“However, following amicable and professional discussions between Watford and Liverpool, the clubs have reached an agreement regarding a transfer.”
Watford issued their official statement as well, it reads:
“Watford FC is pleased to confirm it has agreed terms with Liverpool over the transfer of striker Jerome Sinclair.”
“The highly-rated forward has penned a five-year deal at Vicarage Road and becomes the Hornets’ first new signing ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.”
Yes, Sinclair is the first addition for Watford this summer transfer window, as the Hornets are looking to strengthen their side and keep Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo, both of which have been linked with a move to numerous clubs this summer. Watford, who finished 13th this season in the Premier League this past season, hope their two stars will stay put and help them move up the English top flight table.
Jerome Sinclair made five appearances in the Liverpool starting XI during his time at Anfield.
