Heading into the home fixture against West Ham United, the two big injury concerns for Liverpool remain Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge.
Coutinho, obviously one of the club’s most important players, continues to sit out with an ankle injury and won’t be available until early January at best.
Sturridge, who’s certainly had injury issues over the past couple of years, has missed the last three games with a calf problem and Manager Jurgen Klopp said he is close to returning to the pitch with the rehab coach on the side, but that he has no set timetable on a return.
The news was better on a couple of other players. Joel Matip suffered an ankle injury in training that forced him to miss the match against Bournemouth. He returned to turning in full this week and should start on Sunday.
Sadio Mane also limped off after suffering a knock against Bournemouth, but it wasn’t deemed to be serious and he isn’t expected to miss any time.
