The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Carlos Boozer, winning a waiver bid for the power forward, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com. The winning bid was for $3.25 million, per Stein.
The Chicago Bulls just used the amnesty clause on him on Tuesday. This allows the Bulls to not take the luxury tax hit from the albatross that is the Carlos Boozer contract. We know now that Bulls are reshaping and revamping.
With Deng and Carlos Boozer gone, the nucleus next year will be Rose (who may or may not be what he once was), Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler, plus well, we’ll see about Carmelo Anthony. Pau Gasol won’t happen. Maybe Lance Stephenson though. I don’t know who’s coming, if anyone…but the dismissal of Carlos Boozer will happen. It’s just a question of when.
So hey, thanks for coming Carlos Boozer!
