Former Illinois Fighting Illini shooting guard Kendrick Nunn will take his college basketball career to Oakland. The news broke at the same time via multiple sources, but it’s official now, Nunn will ball for the Grizzlies, a team Big Ten fans know best as being to Michigan State what UIC is to the Illini.
Or maybe like New Zealand; Australia’s Canada.
Via Tony Paul of the Detroit News:
Kendrick Nunn is coming to Oakland, he tells me. Made the decision about an hour ago. Just called the coaching staff.

Kendrick Nunn was dismissed from the Illini program on May 24th after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery. Nunn admitted that he struck his girlfriend in an incident on March 16th at her campus apartment. Should he complete the terms of his plea agreement, the battery conviction will be expunged from his permanent record.
Nunn will avoid having a conviction on his record only if he completes 100 hours of community service, completes a 26-week partner abuse prevention program and writes a letter of apology to the victim, all while under 18 months of court supervision.
Kendrick Nunn was accused of hitting a woman, pushing her to the floor and pouring water on her during an argument. Let’s hope he’s learned from his horrible mistakes here, grows up and gets his life right.
Kendrick Nunn has his whole life ahead of him to become an upstanding member of society.
