Good pt. abt Archibald over Auggie...something to consider. I did think about Warren Carter, but he really only had one season of significance and that caught us all off guard. just because he exceeded expectations and randle fell way short of them, doesn't mean warren was better than brian

brian randle makes the list and not a single mention of warren carter?
seriously, neither one should make the list, but carter's senior year was better than randle's collective body of "work"

also i would take arch over augie, though it is close, arch stepped it up when it mattered most

First team? I don;t know about that. You can make a case for 2nd team though. nto as much for his on court accomplishments, but certainly for what he and his connections brought to the program. the first Peoria guy who helped bring the talented nucleus in the next year. his Dad and the positive effects he's had on the program etc.

Sergio McClain was a much better 3 than Brian Randle and belongs on the 2nd team. Heck, I'd consider putting Sergio on the first team with Dee, Deron, Augie, and Cook.

How can you forget Roger Powell's put-back dunk of his own three-point miss against Louisville? That might be the best individual highlight of the entire 04-05 season.

Sergio McClain belongs on this list. He is the most important recent recruit outside of next year's addition of Jereme Richmond. He reopened the Peoria Pipeline in a huge way. He was the glue to our immensely talented 2001 team, which if coached by Bruce Weber would have won the tournament. His defensive intensity is still around thanks to Wayne McClain's coaching.

Luther Head's best moment was actually the season ender at Purdue in 04 where his buzzer beating tip-in won our first outright Big Ten title in 50 years.

"I do know who that is," this basketball judas you speak of. Classic Deron Williams, he's even better for the program as a pro than leading us to the Final Four. He even lent his name to Shootout at the Hall, where the next decade's talent was showcased featuring the aforementioned Richmond. The Teens belong to the Illini!
