The Green Bay Packers had about as disastrous a start to the season as possible, but let’s not overreact. It’s a very long season, and the Green Bay Packers still have a great team. They still have to be considered the favorite in the NFC North despite their humiliation in Seattle.
CBS Sports and NFL Network hosted a Thursday Night Football conference call with Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports, and Executive Producer of THE NFL ON CBS, Brian Rolapp, EVP of Media, NFL, the Thursday Night Football announce team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, and studio analysts Deion Sanders and Bill Cowher.
“The Seahawks have only lost, I think one game up their since Russell Wilson has been the quarterback. They lost BJ Raji, I don’t think they’re very big down the middle, but they can still the rush the passer,” said Cowher.
“I don’t think Aaron Rodgers had his best game, but I still think it’s a very good offensive team, and I still think they’re going to win the division. It’s a long year, I wouldn’t overreact”
“We didn’t think the Packers were going to win, first and foremost,” said Deion.
“We just wanted to see how they would fare and see what the Seattle Seahawks looked like, and they look darn good.”
Here’s the podcast:
“I wasn’t disappointed in them playing up there, that’s a tremendous team they played against. BJ Raji is a big deal, losing the tackle is a big deal,” said Phil Simms.
“I still think they really have a great chance to be one of the better teams in the league.”
