It promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Manchester United, with plenty of potential comings and goings. Here’s a link to our list of eight players could be exiting Old Trafford at the end of the season.
So, let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
-We start, where else, but with Anthony Martial. The DailyMail reports that United are “willing to listen to offers” for the young forward, “but are keen not to sell the Frenchman to a rival in England.”
That doesn’t sound too promising for Tottenham Hotspur, as they are a domestic rival, but Spurs remain confident of signing him nevertheless, reports the London Evening Standard.
The publication states that White Hart Lane are looking for reinforcements to help out Harry Kane, and also point out how:
“Tottenham bid for Martial, who was left out of France’s World Cup squad last week, before he joined United for an initial £36 million from Monaco in September 2015 and they have closely monitored his situation at Old Trafford.”
-Staying with potential-to-likely departures, yesterday we heard AC Milan’s Sporting Director say that Marouane Fellaini will not sign an extension to stay at United. Today, TeamTalk cite a report that claims it’s 80% likely the Belgian moves to the Serie A side:
Now two reports from Belgium claim that a move to Milan is happening, with one of them staring that it has an 80% chance of happening – as reported by Sport Witness.
Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg says that the Serie A giants are ready to hand the 30-year-old a three-year contract and that there is a “concrete contract proposal” in place for Fellaini.
-Shifting over to potential arrivals/additions, if Martial heads to north London, then maybe defender Toby Alderweireld could be headed the opposite way.
The Guardian reports that United manager Jose Mourinho is targeting the Belgian “as part of the Manchester United manager’s intended revamp of his defense this summer, with the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back open to a move to Old Trafford.”
-Finally, Alex Sandro of Juventus is another target in the initiative to reinforce the back line. FourFourTwo has more on how Sandro could fit in at United.
