Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane limped off during the first half of Spurs’ 4-1 win at Bournemouth on Sunday, and was later spotted leaving the Vitality Stadium on crutches, with his injured right foot in a protective boot.
This created fears that Kane could be out for the rest of the Premier League season. Beyond those concerns, some feared the injury could be so severe that the high flying forward’s World Cup campaign, where he will captain England, could be in doubt as well.
Well, Wednesday brought some good news, as the Harry Kane timeline for return is actually being measured in weeks, not months.
TEAM NEWS: Preliminary assessments have confirmed that @HKane has damaged lateral ligaments in his right ankle.

Today however, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club released a statement informing us on the latest news regarding the fitness of Harry Kane. Spurs said that damaged ligaments in the striker’s right ankle will keep him out of action until next month. The damage is apparently less severe than had been initially anticipated, but no official return date has been set.
It looks likely that he’ll return in April, and that is a crushing blow to his Golden Boot Award hopes. It’s good news for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, but it doesn’t mean the race is over. The next few weeks will feature a lot of FA Cup action and international competition. The latter of which we know everybody is always so enthused for and transfixed on.
All in all, it could have been much worse, and although this is a significant blow, is not the end of the world.
