With a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace tonight, Manchester United has now accomplished something that never have before- eight straight wins away from home across all competitions. Whether or not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gets the managerial job permanently at the end of the season, he has a place in the record book that no other Red Devils boss has; not even Sir Alex Ferguson or Sir Matt Busby.
United got there thanks largely to a brace (33′, 52′) from striker Romelu Lukaku, who made the most of an opportunity to be the hero while the team was suffering from an injury crisis in both attack and midfield.

“Lukaku had two good goals and his link-up play was very good too,” Solskjaer said in a post match interview with the BBC.
“He is working hard in training and has been playing well. He’s had to play wide for me and had many defensive duties so I’m happy for him playing as a No. 9.”
“It’s always good to see players taking their chance. That’s what it’s about at this club, when you get your chance, grab it.”
Ashley Young rounded out the scoring for United, who remained in fifth place due to Arsenal’s having also won very convincingly tonight. Up next for United is another league fixture. They’ll welcome Southampton, who just rose above the drop zone tonight, to Old Trafford on Saturday.
