When midfielder Paul Pogba missed training on Friday, with a mysterious and undisclosed injury, it really seemed like Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho might have been playing mind games on his opponent ahead of the Manchester Derby.
However, the opposite was true as the Frenchman watched in a suit as Manchester City thrashed his side 3-1 yesterday. Earlier today, the France Football Federation announced that Pogba, as well as teammate for both club and country Anthony Martial, were both released from the national team camp due to injury.
The nature of Pogba’s setback was made public, and it turns out he has a minor thigh injury. How minor?
Well, check out the Instagram post below. Pogba took to social media to reassure fans by posting a photo of himself walking and smiling.
He captioned the post with : “Back soon @manchesterunited @equipedefrance”
Paul Pogba was replaced on the France squad by Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko. Martial was replaced by Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, who also withdrew, due to medical reasons, shortly after being called up.
