The new Chelsea FC kit was officially launched today, July 1, the same exact day the summer transfer window opened. Thus, it was a huge day for Chelsea Football Club, at least on the business side. The Blues announced the official addition of their first new player this summer, Willy Caballero, today.
However, the kit launch promos brought out a special new guest, 2-D from Gorillaz.
He’s one of four animated members in the English virtual band created in 1998 by Blur lead singer Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. The world’s first virtual band consists of 2-D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (guitar, keyboards) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion).

All four of these animated characters in Gorillaz are purely fictional, and do not represent the real life members of the band in anyway, but it’s a really cute video they made their with Chelsea defender David Luiz.
And in the series of tweets below, you can see multiple Chelsea FC players modeling the new kit, including: Kurt Zouma, David Luiz, Eden Hazard, Pedro and more-
