Manchester United will be a bit thinner in the middle when they take on CSKA Moscow in the Russian capital on Wednesday night. Marouane Fellaini suffered an ankle injury in the 1-0 win at Southampton this past Saturday and therefore won’t be available for the road leg of the UEFA Champions League group stage tie.
Fellaini did not fly with the team to Moscow, and joins Paul Pogba on the list of players not available for this clash.
Nemanja Matic reportedly suffered a knock over the weekend, but he traveled with the squad.
Youngster Scott McTominay took the place of Fellaini on the roster. Both clubs took all three points from their Champions League openers. CSKA beat Benfica 2-1 in Portugal, while United crushed FC Basel 3-0 at home. United defender Eric Bailly is could make his UCL debut, as he has now finished serving his UEFA suspension. Even without Fellaini, United are substantial favorites in this one.
Oddschecker backs them at 5/7 to win, while they set odds for a draw at 29/10. The line for a CSKA victory are 19/4.
