The long awaited return of striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be key towards Manchester United making a title push said fellow center forward Romelu Lukaku a few days ago. Ibrahimovic, who’s been out of action since suffering severe knee ligament damage in the Europa League round of quarter finals last April, but is now officially cleared to return today, expressed similar sentiment about Lukaku just before Halloween.

The Swede said back then that United’s £75 million addition from Everton this past summer will make his life easier. At his weekly news conference Friday, United manager Jose Mourinho told reporters that he might play both strikers at the same time.

“We played so many times, especially when we played three at the back and the wing backs we brought the second man to the centre so we can do it,” Mourinho said.

“We are ready to do it and we prepared ourselves since preseason. In preseason we started doing three in the back already, so they can play together.”

Mourinho is very happy to now have added reinforcements to his line-up and selection options. Friday brought news that both Marcos Rojo and Paul Pogba are match fit as well.

“I am excited because I have more options, I am excited because the team can be better, I am excited because I want to have players available.

“But I don’t want to make a situation of Zlatan and Romelu because it can be Zlatan and Romelu, it can be just Zlatan, it can be just Romelu or it can be just no one. I want options and I have more options now in attack.”
