Wayne Rooney has beaten Arsenal before. So has Manchester United. Many times to be exact.
So Rooney says that he, along with his United teammates, can repeat the past and pull of the big upset. They’ve been here before and know what they’re doing.
“We’ll have to wait and see where they are in March,” Wayne Rooney remarked. “We’ve seen before that they’ve been in the top two until February and March and then they’ve faded off, so it’s down to them to try to stay there.”
He added:
“They’re doing brilliantly at the minute and they’re in a great position so it’s up to us to catch them.”
The defending Premier League champions are eight points behind the Gunners; who currently sit atop the PL standings. United have suffered four losses already but Wayne Rooney says it’s a very long season.
“We know we’re capable of playing better and we’re starting to do that; we need to start picking points up and see where we are come Christmas,” Wayne Rooney said.
A win on Sunday at Old Trafford would put the Red Devils within five points of the top spot. “We’re obviously capable of beating Arsenal – we’ve done it many times in the past,” Wayne Rooney told the media.
