As the Manchester Derby approaches Sunday, Wayne Rooney has battled to be fit for Manchester United’s clash with Manchester City. Monday night Rooney attended a promotional event for a watch-maker for which he has a commercial relationship. At this event he was witnessed as limping and being in discomfort as he walked. Rooney’s camp denies this and claim he will be fit.
It appears that they were right, and the reports about Wayne Rooney suffering a food injury in training on Monday were exaggerated.
Louis van Gaal has supposedly told Rooney that he’ll start in this one. You know how Van Gaal gives priority to the captain. Here’s more on the fitness and availability of Wayne Rooney via the Daily Mail.
