There have been a lot rumors that Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie was seeking a transfer to FC Barcelona. Multiple outlets have reported the rumor. However, Robin Van Persie denies that he put in a transfer request. RVP was brought over by Sir Alex Ferguson, and he didn’t expect Fergie to retire. He got used to the way Ferguson does things. Van Persie says he clicks with Fergie’s replacement, David Moyes despite what you hear to the contrary.
Previous reports have said that Robin Van Persie and Moyes don’t get along. Even if he says he has no desire to leave, it doesn’t stop other teams from coveting and bidding for him.
The Nou Camp side are willing to offer €45m (£37m) for the 30 year old Dutch international, who is said to be unhappy with life at Old Trafford under David Moyes. The striker has been injured this season, and his absence has certainly been felt in the Red Devils lineup lately. Last year he had a phenomenal season as the Reds won the title.
Robin Van Persie scored 30 goals in his debut season with United, and he has 10 goals in 14 matches this year. Red supporters would certainly miss Robin Van Persie if he indeed moves on. His acquisition from Arsenal was a big and joyous news.
With Lionel Messi out injured Gerardo Martino has targeted Robin Van Persie, who he may feel is a more adept central striking option than in-form Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
However, maybe it’s just an adjustment period. Robin Van Persie is just getting used to the way Moyes does things.
