The hamstring injury suffered by Paul Pogba last night in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Basel in UEFA Champions League group play is pretty serious, and it will keep him sidelined for a prolonged period of time.
Pogba, in a game that saw him handed the captain’s arm band for the first tine in a United shirt, left hobbling after just 17 minutes of action. He later left Old Trafford on crutches, and according to multiple reports, will be out of action four to six weeks.
Pogba will miss United’s Premier League fixtures against Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace, the LeagueCup tie against Burton on September 20 and the Champions League match against CSKA Moscow September 27.
It’s feared that the Frenchman will also be absent for United’s clash with Liverpool at Anfield on October 14. As of right now, it could go either way, given the current time table. Pogba underwent diagnostic testing of his injury on Wednesday with reportedly more scanning to come on Thursday.
Paul Pogba made the following post on Instagram, obviously hoping to allay some of the fear prominent within his following right now. Have a look:
