Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick extolled the virtues of Cristiano Ronaldo to a point that many will perceive his comments as a recruiting pitch. Ronaldo is unsettled at Real Madrid, and there are only a small handful of clubs who could potentially meet his wage demands.
United are obviously one of those clubs, and Old Trafford is a destination that is definitely close to his heart. Paris Saint-Germain or Chelsea could be a potential suitor as well.
Michael Carrick raved about just how much he enjoyed playing alongside Ronaldo.
“Listen, you don’t need me to say, everyone knows what type of a player he is and how good he is and what a career he’s had,” Carrick told Sky Sports.
However he stopped well short of advocating that Ed Woodward, Jose Mourinho and company bring the superstar of superstars back to the Theatre of Dreams.
“It’s not for me to get involved in whether he comes to Manchester United, whether he leaves Madrid or not, that’s not my business at this moment in time.”
“Of course, I was lucky enough to play with him. It was just a joy to work so close to him and see how he plays. We will see how it pans out over the next few weeks and months.”
