Manchester United have received their UEFA Europa League semi-final draw this afternoon, and the opponent is Celta Vigo. In the other semi-final of the Europa League, Ajax will face Lyon.
United needed plenty of extra time last night to finish of Anderlecht in the Old Trafford leg of the tie. Marcus Rashford was the man of the hour, converting in the 107′ to end a long frustrating contest that featured numerous squandered missed opportunities.
The victory came with a serious cost though, as defender Marcos Rojo had to be stretchered off. Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a serious knee injury himself. His MUFC career could be over.
United will take on Celta Vigo for the very first time in a competitive match. The first leg of the tie, in Spain, will be played on May 4, while the return at Old Trafford will commence on May 11.
United, expectedly, are the overall Europa League favorites. According to Odds Checker they are backed at 10/11 to win it all, with Lyon at 14/5, Ajax 13/2 and Celta Vigo 15/2.
In United’s away leg, they’re backed at 11/8, with 5/2 odds for both a draw and host Celta Vigo. The other semi-final at Ajax, gives the hosts 6/4 odds, 13/5 for a draw and Lyon at 39/19
