It’s international break, and hence a slower period of news, but there’s still a ton of Manchester United storylines circulating on the internet today. Let’s dive right in, shall we?
The Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann bromance was rekindled on Friday night. The injured midfielder has been out since mid September, but he took time out of his rehabilitation to travel to Paris to watch his national team defeat Wales 2-0.
Once there, he met up with national teammate, close friend and consistent United transfer target Griezmann, and the meeting was chronicled on Instagram for all to see. Metro has more.
Before you get your hopes up though, check out this story from the Mirror, in which the Atletico boss has shot down any hopes United fans might have of acquiring Griezmann.
As for Pogba, he may finally be returning to action shortly after the international break.
–NBC Sports have published their Premier League power rankings, and it’s based on how a side’s current form looks right now, not how they have performed over the course of the season to this point. So we get it, the rankings won’t be anywhere in accordance with the how the table looks.
Still this is just absurd, ranking United seventh! Yes, the loss at Chelsea was ugly, certainly so in the second half, but the last result before then was a victory over Tottenham Hotspur, who the bookmakers currently see as the best bet to give Manchester City any kind of challenge for the league title.
So to put United seventh, it is definitely hot taking; which I guess it what all power rankings are about. Here’s their Red Devils write-up below, and the link to the full list.
#7 – Manchester United: Jose Mourinho can moan about injuries all he wants but a defensive style has seen them slip. Red-hot start has been extinguished.
Finally, via the Manchester Evening News, “Ryan Giggs has bemoaned the fact that Leroy Sane is playing in ‘the wrong end of the city’ for bitter rivals Man City instead of Manchester United.”
