According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United’s American owners, the Glazer family, are set to raise about £87m by selling eight million shares in the club on the New York Stock Exchange. The club won’t receive any of the money raised from the new share sale, a statement says. All money raised from the class A Man United stock will go to controlling owners.
Shares of Man United stock were currently trading at $18.50 per share, down 4.2%. Fox Sports soccer analyst and former Premier League player Warren Barton shares his thoughts:
” Manchester United is not only a club, it’s a business. You have to run the whole empire. Sir Alex Ferguson did it his way, for David Moyes it didn’t work. The team needs someone like Louis van Gaal, that type of personality. I think you look at Louis van Gaal to come in, he has vast experience and has managed at the highest levels.
