It’s been well known for some time that Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is the number one summer transfer target for Manchester United. It’s also no secret that United feel pretty confident that they’ll sign the world famous superstar. Conventional wisdom holds that France teammate and confidant Paul Pogba will be key to recruiting Griezmann to Old Trafford.
Given reports yesterday, this situation looks very favorable for United, as the deal seems to be moving increasing towards closure.

Manchester United are closing in on Antoine Griezmann – with sources close to the Frenchman believing a deal is on the verge of completion.
The Atletico Madrid forward is Jose Mourinho’s top target this summer and could cost as much as £86m.
Griezmann is having another phenomenal season right now at Atletico, on the heels of a summer in which he was the leading scorer at the 2016 European Championships. He’s signed on to stay at the Spanish capital until 2021, but United have no issue triggering his release clause in order to enable Griezmann to make this move and join his friend Pogba, who signed for £3.3 million more than the figure quoted by M.E.N. last summer.
In other words, you already know how deep Old Trafford’s pockets are, and how willing they are throw money around.
Additionally, the former image consultant of Griezzmann believes that he should make the switch.
