As far as protracted injury sagas go, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has now entered Derrick Rose in 2013 territory. Much like the former Chicago Bulls point guard, the narrative just kept shifting, back and forth, back and forth, and no one really knows when the star athlete will actually return, or if there is even a definitive time table.
Pogba has been out since Sept 12, in the UEFA Champions League opener, a victory over FC Basel.
The Frenchman has missed seven weeks and counting, with no return date in sight, although some reports have mentioned December as a target.
Paul Pogba had been rehabilitating at the Carrington training complex, then went to Miami to continue his rehab. He has since returned to Carrington, and his manager Jose Mourinho spoke out in it several hours ago. Mourinho was asked when Pogba could return and he responded:
“I have no idea. Honestly. I am not in control of his recovery process. He is not training with me. He is on individual work and when a player is on individual work I cannot predict.”
“I would expect Marcos Rojo to return after the international break because he is training with me. But with Paul I have no idea.”
It’s seems from the way that he’s speaking, Mourinho could be getting upset with Paul Pogba; many United fans currently to be as well.
