On the eve of Manchester United visiting Arsenal, Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho was asked about the possibility of acquiring Gunners No. 10 Mesut Ozil. “No comment,” Mourinho responded.

Ozil has been strongly linked to United in transfer rumors for quite some time, and his Arsenal deal expires in June, so if he’s not renewed, he’ll get to go out on a free. Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger had said earlier this season that there was a possibility of both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, his brother in expiring contract, being sold in the January transfer window.

However, last week he changed his tune on this, saying that both players will be staying put this winter window.

Mesut Ozil played under Mourinho for three years at Real Madrid, and as we saw then, they have the ability to make beautiful music together on the pitch. Ozil was so productive under the Portugese that he parlayed his performances into becoming Arsenal’s club record signing when he made the switch from La Liga to the Premiership.

Wenger was asked about the future of Ozil at his news conference, but his answer didn’t really take us anywhere.

Wenger did say earlier though in the week that he’s impressed by how the midfielder has regained his fight.
