Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho took in Croatia’s 1-0 win over Ukraine last night in Zagreb, but he denies that his attendance was for the purposes of scouting.
Earlier in the week, Mourinho met with the agent of Inter Milan and Croatia winger Ivan Perisic, who was also in the house. However, his client sat out the outing due to suspension. Mourinho maintains that this traveling wasn’t for work, or even a “workcation” but instead was just for fun.

Mourinho, in an interview with HNTV, described his presence at Croatia versus Ukraine thusly: “I have no hidden cause, I just came to enjoy my free days and visit some friends like Predrag Mijatovic and Davor Suker.”
“I know everyone believes I came to watch some players, but in today’s football you don’t have to travel around in order to see some players, I know all of them well.”
“I came as a person that wants to relax and enjoy the nice weather, unlike the rain in Manchester…”
