We might have seen the last of Jamie Carragher as a Sky Sports pundit. The network announced the suspension of the Liverpool legend for the rest of this season. Beyond that- who knows? However, his status for next season is certainly in question. Carragher is being punished for spitting at a Manchester United fan and his 14-year-old daughter.
“Jamie has taken full responsibility for what has happened and we will ensure he gets the help he needs to guarantee something like this never happens again,” reads the statement from Sky on Carragher’s future.
“Before the start of the next season we will sit down with Jamie to discuss whether he is ready to return to his role.”
The Daily Mirror published a video of the spitting incident and you can see that in the link below:

The whole incident has been extremely ugly for everybody involved. The driving was filming Carragher at high speeds and goading him on by talking trash about United’s win over Liverpool on Sunday. Behavior like this is both dangerous and not exactly the actions of a person who can walk on the moral high ground here. There really is no one to root for in this situation, but the reaction to this incident continues to take a darker turn.
The man spat upon by Carragher has received numerous death threats, which is beyond deplorable and extremely disturbing.
Jamie Carragher has apologized profusely several times, and has taken full responsibility for the incident.
