Manchester United attacking player Henrikh Mkhitaryan is keeping himself grounded, in spite of the scorching hot start that we’ve seen from the Red Devils. They thrashed both of their first two opponents by a score of 4-0, whipping up on West Ham at home in the season openers, destroying Swansea City in their place yesterday.
Of course, it’s only two games, and there are 36 more to go.
“Let’s not rush because it’s only two games played,” Mkhitaryan said. “We still have 36 games to play in the Premier League. So let’s go just step by step to try and win every game and at the end see where we arrive.” United entered the season as the co-favorites with Chelsea to finish runner-up in the Premier League. Most people with a BettingTop10 had Manchester City favored to win the league as the season commenced, but now it could be time to revisit that.
United’s rip roaring start makes them look more dangerous, as the team that no one wants to play, and perhaps the Red Devils will be receiving better odds now.
The 2016 summer signing from Borussia Dortmund, another attacking player on the team who is a Mino Raiola client, got off to a slow a start at Old Trafford, but progressed as the season went on last year. This is season, he’s hit the ground running and kicked it up a notch. He had two assists against the Swans yesterday, and he’s been an influence on half the team’s goals this season.
“I’m very happy I could assist twice but I enjoyed more of the teamwork than what I have done myself because football is a team sport,” Henrikh Mkhitaryan told MUTV, the club’s official website.
“Last year the atmosphere and environment in the team was amazing but this year it is much better. It’s not that something has changed but we have become more close to each other. Maybe that’s why our new signings have shown that everything is good and are helping us from the first game.
“We are very happy for Romelu and Nemanja that they are playing and I hope that Victor [Lindelof] is going to start playing as soon as he can. We are trying to support them to settle down quick because it’s very important for us that they show their best quality.”
Henrikh Mkhitaryan and United host Leicester City next Saturday.
