Wayne Rooney, Manchester United striker and international superstar was the talk of the summer transfer window last year. When United retained the 28-year-old it was their only big “signing” of the period. An own goal if you will. During the January transfer window there was talk again around Wayne Rooney; supposedly Chelsea looking to make a major bid of £40 million.
Even though Rooney just signed the richest contract in English football history to stay at United.
Yes, here we go again. And yes, the rumor is with The Blues.
It’s true that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to add a top class centre-forward to his squad. But I’m still not buying in to this idea. Just like every transfer window brings a Cesc Fabregas to United rumor. And I never buy into those either.
According to this story in The Express, a Wayne Rooney move to Stamford Bridge may happen. Yes, with Louis van Gaal now in charge at Old Trafford, Robin van Persie will almost certainly get to wear that now available captain’s armband at United. Is that fair to Wayne Rooney? Probably not. Is that enough to make him leave Manchester for London?
Uhm, yeah. We’ll see about that.
