Mino Raiola, agent of Manchester United winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan, spoke out about the future of his client, and his impact on the Alexis Sanchez transfer situation. While Mkhitaryan has had an underwhelming career at United, he still holds the key to getting the Sanchez deal done.
Or at least that’s what Mino Raiola (who also represents United players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba) claims.
“Manchester United are not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal,” Raiola said in an interview with The Times of London.
“Mkhi is going to do what is best for him. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract so it’s his decision. Sanchez is part of the Mkhi deal, not the other way around.”
Yesterday brought the news that Manchester City dropped out of the running to acquire the Arsenal forward, while Chelsea decided to enter the fray. When asked about Sanchez, United manager Jose Mourinho said he was neither confident, nor unconfident that a deal would get done.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte played down his team’s interest in acquiring the Gunners soon to be out of contract star.
When asked about Mkhitaryan, Mourinho reiterated that the Armenian’s future with the club remains very uncertain, and essentially wished that the transfer window would close already so that this situation could all be settled.
