Manchester City now essentially have one hand on the Premier League trophy has they emerged victorious, 2-1, at Old Trafford today in a highly anticipated Manchester Derby that was shown in close to 200 countries worldwide. City are now 11 points clear of second place United, and they have now won 15/16 league fixtures this season.
Given their current form and the aforementioned gap, the title race is probably over. Let’s take a look at some of the Manchester Derby news items now trending in the wake of this monumental contest.
Your Man of the Match from today's derby day win is David Silva with 39% of the 2,832 votes!

–David Silva was a fitness doubt earlier in the week, before Pep Guardiola declared him good to go on Friday. He opened the scoring today and put in what was a man of the match level performance for City. He goes somewhat overlooked on this team of bigger name, bigger money stars, but he is an invaluable player.
Silva was a tour de force all around today, but especially so in attack.
-It’s ironic, given how United manager Jose Mourinho derided City as a bunch of divers before this contest that it’s a Red Devils player, Ander Herrera who’s called for diving in this one. It was a desperation play by the Spaniard, but don’t let it overshadow the solid performance he put in.
Herrera looked like the guy who won United Player of the Year last season, as he was their best individual performer today. He needed to be, with Paul Pogba out. Twitter had some fun at the expense of Herrera’s desperation dive.

-David de Gea was the goalkeeper with the transcendent performance last weekend, but today belonged to City #1 Ederson, have a look at this brilliance.
Finally, Marcus Rashford was GAME ON today, keeping United in it with this beautiful goal, have a look-
